Follow Me / Call Screening

Missing a phone call could break your company's bottom line - in other words, it's not an ideal situation. With the Follow Me / Call Screening service, your inbound calls find you!

With Follow Me / Call Screening, you can specify up to five destinations where your inbound call will try to connect with you. These destinations could be extensions within your account, or phone numbers such as your cell or home. When a call comes in, our system will forward the call to each of the destinations you have defined until it finds you. If the system gets through all the destinations without connecting the call, the caller is sent to your extension's voicemail. All the while this routing is happening, your caller hears Music On Hold.

Now, Follow Me behaves differently than Call Screening, but either one could fit into your workflow. The behavior of each service is outlined below:

Follow Me

Follow Me is the simpler of the two services. Define your destinations and how many times each one should ring and let the connections begin.

  • Up to five destinations called
  • Each destination has a selectable number of rings
Call Screening

Call Screening allows you to capture your callers name before attempting to connect the call to you. Your caller will hear a "Who's calling please?" prompt and then your Music On Hold. When the call is connected to you, you will hear the caller's name followed by a menu of options, which will allow you to connect the call, record a short message to play to the caller, forward the call to another extension or phone number, or send the caller to your voicemail. If you hang up, the next destination in your list is called.

  • One selectable number of rings
  • Selectable delay before your caller's name is played
  • Ability to replace the inbound Caller ID
